Up at 8am.
Caught up with a few from the tour having their last breakfast in London before heading off to different flights home.
10am headed off on the walk to The Victoria and Albert Museum...about half an hour, past wonderful houses and parks.
Free entry to this Museum.
Took a free guided tour for an hour with a wonderful guide.
She was so friendly and enthusiastic.
Really enjoyed this museum.
Statues, costumes, tapestries.
Saw Raphael's Cartoons.
Absolutely amazing.
No photos allowed in that section so look them up.
Spectacular.
That alone was worth the visit.
Loved the fashions through the centuries.
Some early designers would dress dolls to demonstrate how the dresses would look. Loved these.
Some of the early dyes used in the fabric was poisonous and the ladies wearing the clothes would become ill and not know why.
Pretty amazing history.
Saw armour...tried on a knight's gauntlet.
( Tried not to think how many had tried it on before me. )
It was so comfortable!
Great place...know you were fascinated with this museum, Mum.
I loved it too....Spent about 4 hours here.
Then walked back to the Ibis by another route....the sights and sounds...
I'm in London.
Meagan rang at 3.30pm and we arranged to meet so off I went carrying half of the contents of my case.
Meagan assures me that she is flying back to Melbourne with a half empty case.....so I am filling the other half.
I have room for more shopping in my case now!
So there I was, waiting at The TARDIS .....and 3 people came up, very excited.
The lady in the group hugged the blue box.
The 2 guys grinned outrageously and the 3 of them posed for about 15 photos.
( See! )
Of course we chatted.
A lot.
The lady even spotted where someone had written 'BAD WOLF' in the dust on The TARDIS.
( That will only make sense to Doctor Who fans. )
Then, a family walked past and the little boy, about 7 years old, just pointed and said, 'Dad.... Dad....Dad...'
( See! )
Then Meagan walked out of the station.
Great to see her and gave her big hugs, Leanne.
Then I shoved 2 cameras at her and said, 'Take pictures!'
She did.
Caught the train to her house.
Great place... So many rooms...and I get to sleep in the one right at the top!
Thanks, Megs.
Did a tour....
Had a diet coke sitting in the back garden in the sun.
Then off for a tour of Balham.... A wonderful tour!
So easy.
Everything is so close.
1 minute from the station and 2 minutes from everything else.
She took me to a wonderful pub and we had a great dinner.
Meagan is getting up at 3.30am to go to an Aussie Pub to watch the Grand Final.
Pie for breakfast!
And then Meagan walked me to the station and I caught the train back here.
Have a ball in Australia, Megs and thank you!
Had a lovely time today with you.
All packed and ready for the second tour.
Heading to Stratford on Avon tomorrow ....
