Hello...
Up at 5.45am to be on the road at 7.15am.
We want to catch the 9am boat.
(I'm right up with this, aren't I? )
Very misty this morning.
Hopefully it will burn off.
The sunrise is magnificent from the bus.
Had a long sleep last night.
I needed it. Was so tired yesterday.
No Emily...the Black Forest cake was definitely a disappointment.
Learnt my lesson there.
Almost as disappointing as the green ice cream drumstick I was eating on top of Mt Stanserhorn when I was talking to you. Really weird 'green' taste.
I can't believe you asked me why I chose that one.
Visualise ......
queues,
swapping sightseeing glasses for reading glasses,
getting right amount of 'play money' ready,
making sure no one steals said 'play money',
saying 'Bonjour' and realising you should be saying.....' insert word here'
Believe me..... I take what I can get... And then look at it later.
I ate it though. Can't let good food go to waste
(Exception....all together now....BLACK FOREST CAKE!)
Loved your email! Mum.
I will catch up with Meagan on Friday.
I didn't even know what day it is today.
I am assured ( by all 3 NZ sisters ) that today is Wednesday.
Wed. ....Rhine River Cruise....Amsterdam...dinner out tonight.
Thur.....Huge bus trip back to London.
However, it does include the WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER!
Thursday evening...dropped off at the Ibis Earl's Court...a lot from the tour staying there.
Fri...catching up with Meagan
Sat....being picked up at the Ibis for the 8 day tour of the British Isles.
After that tour, I can be dropped off at a tube station and just catch the tube to Meagan's.
She won't be there.
She will be in Melbourne!
She arrives back in London the day I am in Stratford seeing David Tennant (!!!!!!!!!)
We have a couple of days together...
( That's Meagan and I.....not....)
Anyway....
Then I fly home.
Phyll...you sound as if you are having a ball at Mirboo.
And a star on the radio as well!
That's fantastic.
Thanks for the news on the garden...sorry about the lawn growing so fast!
Hope you are enjoying the Folly.
No strange men, remember?
Andrew...NZ sisters say hi to you, the gardener and the bear!
They were the ones saying...'you must know who they are!'.... George and Callum.
They were getting most upset at my vehement denials!
Wonderful time on the Rhine River Cruise.
There have been so many places on this trip that it was fantastic to arrive early..
The Vatican
Pompeii
Monserrat
David
This was not one of those times.
It was foggy.
If we saw any castles....they were castles in the mist!
But the mist was nice.
Very cold on the outside deck but, hey, if there was going to be a castle, I was going to be right there to see it!
Saw a couple and they were great.
The small villages along the river were amazing.
This is a bit hard to explain...
There is an hotel and church....joined together in one of these villages.
To get into church, you have to walk through the Pub.
When you leave the church and walk into the bar, the minister serves the drinks.
Sounds economical to me.
The scenery was just magnificent.
And the cruise so much fun.
The few of us outside danced to the German music while we kept our eyes peeled for more castles.
Laughed ourselves silly.
Now back on the bus, heading to Amsterdam .
Oh...Oh... Thought my phone battery had gone flat.
Nope. Just turned it off, didn't I.
Such a tech head.
Just finished lunch and a slide....wheeeee
Calvin just informed us....
We have done 9014km by road
1885 by sea
Total 11813km
To be continued....
