Today was my favourite day in Cairns so far! We woke up late and had to race in Paul to the spot where the mini bus was picking us up. The driver was an absolute fitty (score!), then we drove to the Daintree rainforest again to do our minjin bungee swing!!! I had been nervous for a few days before doing it as I'm not a massive fan of heights in all honesty! Anyhow, we got there, they weighed us (great) and put us into the bungee gear! By this point I was starting to feel physically sick!!! Sarah did a bit of flirting and the guy allowed us to take my GoPro on as it's usually not allowed. The bungee swing is 50 meters high and you hit 120km in 3 seconds... Say whaaat?!! And what's worse is you have to pull the cord yourself to go once you get to the top! Anyway, it was bloody awesome!!!! So much so we did it again straight after! While we waited for the rest of the mini bus to do their swings, Sarah and I headed for a walk not too far from the site. Sarah pretended to see something on my bag and I freaked and started to scream. Once I realised it was a joke I calmed down, but some cyclists came around the corner asking if we were ok. Apparently someone had spotted a python a few yards away and me and Sarah were walking around in flip flops!! So back to the mini bus we ran!
So as if that wasn't enough fun for one day, we headed back to cairns central, and we met up with Rachel, a friend I met in the Philippines last year while I was doing my midwifery placement there. Rach lives in Cairns, I was so excited to see her! Next, we drove to a beautiful little beach called Palm Cove! Just stunning! Stayed there until dark then headed back to the campsite to do some washing as leaving tomorrow to move on to the next place. Only 4 full days here and already done so much! Looking forward to the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow!
