6 am start this morning as we were heading out for a day boat trip on the Derwent Hunter, all round the Whitsunday Islands. We checked out of 'nomads' campsite and parked the car. There were no spaces available at the campsite so we basically just left it, then walked to the bus stop and the mini bus never came for us so we had to walk to the harbour. Great start! Anyway once we finally got there the boat was incredible! Built in 1940, literally the most amazing sailing boat I've seen! We set sail to Blue Pearl bay to do some snorkelling. The coral was amazing! There were so many fish it was almost overwhelming! They were everywhere, and even swimming up to my face! After an hour there we then sailed to Langford Bay for some more snorkelling. This was a gorgeous golden sand beach with tropical blue sea surrounding it, but not as much coral here. Then we got back onto the boat and had a massive lunch! It was so good, and I had so much! Then we slowly sailed back to Airlie beach harbour, Sarah and I had a little snooze at the front of the boat underneath the sail with the sun beaming down...bliss! Once back at Airlie beach, we went to Woolworths to pick up some food for the long journey ahead of us. 11 hours driving until our next stop at 1770 beach.
