Australia Zoo today!!! We woke up so excited. The public toilets were absolutely vile so we decided to do it true backpacker style and hit the bushes! We arrived at the Zoo around 10am, made a packed lunch and headed in. It was just an amazing day, I'm not a huge animal lover as pretty all of them scare me but I was loving it!! I even got a selfie with a kangaroo. We watched a crocodile and bird show which was amazing, definitely worth going to. It was lovely but also a bit sad to see all the Steve Irwin memorabilia, but his presence is still very much there. We left the Zoo around 3pm and decided to head into Brisbane to find somewhere to stay. As we've been travelling up north on open straight highways for miles, traffic just doesn't exist up there, so we completely forgot about big city rush hour traffic. It took us ages to get into Brisbane City centre and after a few wrong turns we ended up on the backpacker hostel street. There was no where for us to park and sleep in Paul for the night without getting over a $200 fine so we booked into a hostel for the night. We couldn't handle sharing with 10 others so we got a private double room, don't know how we are going to cope in hostels! We got all glammed up and went out for tapas at the Sangria Bar on Southbank. There's an entire street front and back full of different restaurants, it was a little overwhelming when making a choice! Sarah started to get tired, on the way to the club she even had a little nap in the taxi, but a vodka and red bull soon sorted that out! The first club 'Friday's' we went to was so posh and over looked Brisbane on a massive balcony. We felt a bit out of place there in sandals to be honest so we moved on to a backpackers club called 'Down Under', this was more up our street! By 6.30am we'd had just about enough and headed back. We had an amazing night and even resisted cheesy chips on the way home...score!

Kez You are soooo funny. Hostels are awesome, the best way to meet other travellers and find out where to go. Sounds like you are having a blast. Love you xxxx
Trude Sounds amazing - yep with you on the hostels - make sure you lock your doors - sleep with your clothes on x
