I woke up about 6.30 am at the Southport tourist park campsite in a very productive mood. I pegged my washing out that I washed from the night before, and then thought I'd put my new sports bra to good use and head out for a run before it got too hot. I ran 5 km along the beach front which was amazing! When I got back to the van, I showered and then prepared for breakfast. While Sarah was gone I thought I would give the kitchen bit of our van a quick clean. I felt much better after! We had our usual campers breakfast, packed our stuff up and headed to check out. We were suppose to check out at 10am, but taking on the Ozzy way and being the new laid back gals that we are we checked out at 11am. Sarah was literally crapping herself when I told her she would have to go in and face the receptionist. Obviously it was all good! Don't know why they bother telling you the check out time it clearly doesn't exist! We drove into Surfers and parked up. We had a little walk around, it looks so much better in the day as not so busy! I was meeting up with Kirsty today so was very excited!!! We met Kirsty and Drew on the esplanade and they took us to Waxy's. We chatted for ages over a $2 steak! We then walked to the beach and chilled for a bit before Sarah and I had to head off towards Byron Bay. It was so good to see her! Once we entered New South Wales, the clock went forward an hour as Queensland doesn't change the clocks throughout the year. It took us a good hour and half to get to Byron, we parked up on the Main Street and had a little walk around. We found a gorgeous bar called 'The Balcony' where I had my first Pinacolada since being here! Then we walked to a local Mexican and had a Burrito which was amazing! The campsites were really expensive so we decided as it was late anyway that we would head back out a bit to a rest area for the night as would be free to save us a bit of dollar! Typically so, the toilets were vile, but I'm getting use to that now! No biggy!
