We were moving again today, we had to check out at 10.30 from Anoob's place. We had breakfast, packed our bags then sorted with Anoob that we were definitely booked in at the beginning of January. We gave him the deposit and we asked him some advice on where he thought we might get something similar to an English Christmas dinner, he had a couple of suggestions but said any of the big hotels will be doing something, so we said we'd go around and ask. We left our bags at Anoob's and he organised a tuk tuk for us for 12.30pm so we said we'd be back for then. We had a wander round for quite some time, we saw a poster advertising a Christmas dinner at the Old Lighthouse hotel so we went in search of that. When we found it we asked inside what sort if thing it was going to be, it was a buffet meal with some English some Indian food and there would definitely be turkey! That was good enough for us so we paid for two meals there and then, we could turn up any time between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
Feeling chuffed with ourselves we got back to Anoob's to get our bags and the tuk tuk. The tuk tuk took us across to Maradu where our hotel is for the next 10 days. It was really hard to find, it's in among a lot of backstreets but it looked very nice when we got there. We were welcomed the traditional way with a bindi and then we were given a glass of juice each then shown to our room. They had upgraded our room seen as we are staying for 10 nights. We treated ourselves to this hotel for over the Christmas and new year period, but we were not expecting what we got, the room is huge with flat screen tv, fridge, setee, seperate powder room, shower and jacuzzi bath! We haven't had a bath since the very first hotel in Mumbai! We were really pleased! We just settled in for the rest of the day, the manager rang us at around 5pm to ask if we would like dinner in the restaurant tonight. We put an order in, she said it would be ready in about 1 and a half hours but she would call us when it is ready. When she rang we went up the their restaurant, it's a bit different as they have a pool table right in the middle of the restaurant and tables around it. We were the only people in, James made a comment about it and she said another four people would be coming tomorrow.
We slept very well tonight!!
