Plenty still to see in London there was no rest for the wicked despite our big day yesterday. From Vauxhall we started our day on the Thames riverside path and just about walked the length of London passing the Houses of Parliament & Big Ben, then shaking our heads in wonder at all the tourist spending half their day lining up for the London Eye & Dungeons we kept heading east stopping next at the Tate Modern firstly having a coffee & using their free wifi before going to see some modern 'art'. There weren't really any remarkable pieces on display & most of the collection had us rolling our eyes at how unoriginal it is or how much it looked like a kindergartener had finger painted it. From here we stopped for a bit of a disappointing burger at a fancy riverside pub then walked on until Tower Bridge which we crossed over then walked alongside the Tower of London although not willing to pay the £21 price tag to go in. Our next destination was Greenwich which I had never been to. We once again took the light rail & alighting at Cutty Sark we saw its name sake then walked along the water front to the Royal Naval College to see the magnificent (& free) Painted hall & their equally impressive symmetrical college buildings. Our final stop in Greenwich was the Royal Obseratory to stand at the point of 0 degrees longitude. The beginning & end of time at GMT 0. It was a 45 minute wait & you had to pay to get into the observatory but there was a free section marked out on a wall adjoining the observatory which only had a line of a few minutes. Having got the obligatory photo standing on both east & west we wandered back through the park to the station. Our next destination was Archway for Ben & Adam's flat but due to track works we had to take the light rail, then the very slow circle line, then a train replacement bus from kings cross. After about an hour & three quarters we arrived to enjoy a very tasty vege lasagne & some more gossip & catching up. By the time we left a bit after 10 we were ready to quickly get back to the hotel & straight to bed.
