It was a day of Beer today as we were off to The Great British Beer Festival but first of all we had to do our washing. Most certainly one of the downsides when travelling is finding somewhere to do washing & then taking a few hours out of a day to actually get it done. The closest laundrette was about 10mins walk away & luckily they had quick machines so we were out of there in just over an hour ready to take the tube to West Kensington then walk up to Olympia to meet Ben & Adam before entering the big hall of beer! The space was massive & once we had got our pint glasses and put some beer in it we walked to the back of the large hall & found a table. Unfortunately there was a rather loud Brass Band playing on the stage nearby which made it hard to hear each other, then an unenthusiastic auctioneer so after a couple of drinks & a pie we found a new table in the little side hall just as Ben & Adam's friend Chris joined us. Ben had also invited Hannah from our class at Brauer college, although besides a familiar face I didn't really remember her. The afternoon progressed with more beer tasting, generally all British style ales, & more eating & chatting before we finally moved on heading into Soho & ending up in a gay bar with scantly clad buff guys dancing on the bar where we had a drink then went for dinner at Cafe Rouge. It had been more than a long enough day so from here we took the tube back to the hotel despite Ben's invite to party on.
