After the hard cycle of the previous day we decided to catch the train to Copenhagen today.
First stop was the Carlsberg exBEERience which was situated on the site of the original brewery. I was surprised to find out that they had only moved from this location to a bigger more efficient factory in 2009. Other facts I found out were that:
- Carlsberg is the fourth largest brewer in the world and they own brands such as Kronenbourg (France), Mythos (Greece) & Falcon (Sweden). All brands that we have sampled on our edventure.
- During the second world war the Danish Resistance used one of the beer cellars as their headquarters.
Our next destination was Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park in the city centre where we listened to a Danish band at the open-air stage followed by a silent pantomime - which worked out well as at least we could follow what was going on.
We found a Wagamamas which was a real treat as we have not eaten out much at all this leg.
Quick family game of Donkey Derby which Megan won before heading back to the campsite to bed.
