Beautiful day at Møns Klint today. We decided to walk to the GeoCenter through the forest dodging fat, red slugs and numerous flying insects on the way to arrive at a GeoCenter that was a lot busier than we expected. I feel like we have hit a lot of museums in Scandinavia but there have actually been a lot of really good museums to visit and today was no exception - a Geological museum tracing the geological history of Denmark....
We started with Giant Squid, through descriptions of how the chalk cliffs were formed with interactive glacers to play with and climb ( as well as a rock climbing wall), a 3d movie about a T-Rex called Sue and another movie about some sea dinosaurs, M made an amulet, D looked at fossils under the microscope, they both got inside the head of a Peregrine falcon, we saw the bones of the first dinosaur discovered in Denmark and felt what it was like to run like a lizard and then we headed outside and did some tree climbing and M and Daddy did an aerial walkway through the trees with M trying to freak me out by hanging on the ropes rather than walking on them....
After all that excitement we joined the fossil hunting tour which we quickly realised was only going to be in Danish and since we're still stuck on 'Hi hi' and 'Tak' we headed off on our own down 'the longest stairway in Denmark' - 497 steps down the cliff to... a beach completely under water. Not impressed with this but it was entirely our own fault - we know to check tide tables in Cornwall, why didn't we think of it here? We climbed back up the steps which were re-christened 'the longest, most pointless steps to the stinkiest non-beach in Denmark' before raising our spirits with ice-cream - it never fails!
