We headed off on the bikes towards Moesgaard this morning and had a slightly more challenging cycle than the bike path we were imagining but, having persevered on our cycle through the woods, we eventually arrived at the Moesgaard museum.

We had a coffee overlooking the exhibition in the entrance hall which showed human evolution and gave M&D the option of whether we went into the museum or headed back and they surprised us both by wanting to go in... so we did and I think we were all quite pleased we bothered....

It was a fascinating museum with excellent interactive exhibits and although we didn't manage to see everything we travelled North to Scandinavia with stone-age hunters, we travelled from Aarhus to York with Vikings and we listened to Stephen Hawkins, Paul Gurrumuruwuy (an Aboriginal) and Galina Ainatgual (a Chukchi from the northern Kamchatka in Siberia) explain their different perspectives on human origin - Where are we as humans from and where are we going? Always interesting to try and answer the questions that follow these introductions......

After a quick picnic we cycled back to the campsite, battling the numerous flying insects in the boggy wood and found that our electricity cable had been sliced as the grass surrounding our pitch was mown but as the campsite owner replaced it we were soon on our way North with the light evening helping us out and despite leaving way too late we still made it all the way to the North coast in time for a new playground and some go-carts before tea - having managed to fit in a last Denmark supermarket shop before the Norway prices that we have been warned about!
