We dropped Hayley off at Kellys house and drove half an hour further up to meet Mum and Andy at a campsite. They had bought some massive 1 1/2 inch thick steaks for their New Years meal and decided that we would love them too, so picked up a load more on their way back. So we all went for a walk to the shops to get a few more bits. On the way, the boys spotted a pub! Quelle surprise and said they would wait in there whilst we went to the shops. When we came back we all had another drink before going to cook our lovely steaks.
I think Ant may have eaten steak for the best part of an hour, totally in his element and when I left some of the fatty bits - he tucked into the bits of meat he could find in them! lol.. He loved it...
The next morning we drove to Kellys house, where we were going to stay for the evening. Mum and Andy cleared out their van, ready to drop it back the next day. In the afternoon, me Hayley and Mum drove to town to get a few presents whilst Andy and Ant went to the pub - notice any patterns here?! lol...
In the evening we all went to the local pub for a stunning meal with Kelly and her mum Sue. We had such good night because the food, company and service was amazing! Kelly and Sue ended up sneaking off to pay for the whole thing and wouldn't let us give them a penny! It's really nice to meet such friendly generous people and we are hoping they'll let us return the favour by coming over to Jersey this year.
We ended up going back to Kellys and sticking some music on, whilst drinking far too much and didn't get to bed till 2am.
In the morning, everyone was up looking particularly rough and still drunk, so Hayley and Kelly said goodbye to Mum and Andy and we drove to the campervan depot. They got rid of their heap of junk and we drove them to the airport.
We had a quick breakfast before saying our goodbyes. I was pleased that no one cried because we all knew it wouldn't be all that long till we were back home. It was brilliant having them around and the 4 weeks just vanished!
