We arrived in Kaikoura and were quite surprised at how lovely the little beach was. Our campsite was a few steps away from the beach and the views were stunning! It also helped that the sun was shining, so we spent the afternoon sitting outside a little pub having a few drinky poos. We also booked a Kayaking trip for the following day around the Abel Tasmen Natl Park.
During the night, it didn't actually stop raining and we were worried that we may not be able to go on our trip but luckily by about 7am the rain stopped and the sun came out for us! Yippee.
First we went Kayaking for about 3 hours with a guide called Nico from Tokyo. He was quite funny and it was good to do some exercise for a change. He took us around some tiny islands off the coast and there were some Seals just hanging out by the water.
Then we went further up to see a few more beaches and got some pictures of split apple rock, before heading back for our little packed lunch. In the afternoon we got a sea taxi which was actually quite fun and took about an hour to get to the place where they were to drop us off so we could walk down a few beaches. It was a really nice walk and all in all a good day.
