We flew from Cairns to Brisbane and then Brisbane to Melbourne where Aaron picked us up. He drove us to Jades Dad's house (after missing his turn on the motorway due to talking! lol) where they had made the most amazing shepherds pie for us. We got chatting away and tucked into plenty of white wine (maybe a glass or 2 too many!). I may have felt a little on the sick side and went to lie down but unfortunately the wine had other plans and I threw up on Jades brothers bed! I didn't sleep very well because all night I kept dreaming about washing the sheet and nobody finding out about it, but then woke up feeling slightly rough and saw the sheet staring up at me and it all came flooding back! RUBBISH!!! Everyone had a good old laugh at my expense and we set off on our road trip to the Great Ocean road. On the way me and Ant decided to buy a massive strawberry cheesecake from the cheesecake factory (possibly something to do with the hangover). If we'd have been thinking straight we'd have probably been better off opting for a half but it seemed like a good idea at the time!
The first night we rented a lovely little house and by the time we got there we were all pretty tired (and some of us still hung over!). It was a beautiful drive down there though and once we'd all got ready and tucked into our first alcoholic beverage we were all feeling a bit better. We went for a walk into the town and had a really good meal before heading to the local pub for a few more drinky poos. We left there at about 1am and headed home for a night cap. No one fancied any cheesecake though!
After a great nights sleep we got up and had some breakfast before heading off towards the 12 Apostles, where we were meeting some of Jade and Aarons friends Marie-Anna and Anthony. We stopped off a few times along the way at various lookouts, a place called cheese world and a so-called sweet factory.
Later in the day Marie-Anna and Anthony arrived at the motel we were staying at for the night and I had a little afternoon nappy time whilst they all went off to take more photos. They came back to get me later on so we could go to the 12 Apostles for sunset and get some good piccies.
No one had thought it would be busy in the little town for dinner, so we didn't book a table. Turns out, it was all chocca so we settled for take away pizza's and set up camp for the night in mine and Ants room.
Aaron had been trying to talk me into a drinking game called Kings, but I wasn't keen after sicking the bed on Friday! In the end, we gave in and it was probably one of the best nights we've had since we've been away! Basically each card means something different and you have to have a sip of your drink depending on the card e.g. 4 means touch the floor and the last person to do it has to take a sip. Each time someone got a king, they have to fill up a quarter of the glass in the middle of the table and the person to pick out the last king has to down it. I was praying to the angels and anyone else that was listening to not let me get that drink, but as luck would have it, who do you think got the first one! It was part vodka and coke, part rum and coke and part midouri and I'm not even sure what else! I didn't think sipping was a great idea so downed it and made some beautiful faces! I managed to film everyone else downing there shots, especially the other Anthony who was drinking 80% vodka/coke all night. One minute he's telling his wife Marie-Anna to go to the toilet if she was going to be sick and a few hours later he's doing the 'keep it together, don't be sick - your ok your ok' stare! lol.... All good fun. When Ant did his shot Marie Anna (one of the sweetest people I've met for a long time) shouted out 'Ha ha, your mouth looks like a butt hole!'. We all had stomach ache from laughing so much and I'm definately playing that game again! Cheesecake anyone??! No? ok...
The game ended when Anthony knocked his drink over all the cards and Aaron offered to walk him back to his room but he declined (slurring!) on the basis that he didn't have any boobies! lol...
The next delicate morning, we all went for a nice breakfast before spending the day driving around taking in the scenery. We still hadn't even touched the cheesecake and after it spent a whole day in the car on Saturday, we decided to donate it to the good people who owned the motel! Best $24 we've spent so far! NOT... It was a good weekend had by all and good to spend sometime with good friends! We miss you guys xxx
On Monday poor Jade had to go to work and Aaron took us to Philip Island for the day. The weather wasn't great but it was still a good day and in the evening we watched the Penguins coming in off the beach! I want one!!!!! Ant also got to see the Philip Island racing track, where the Moto GP was due to be on the following weekend so he was pretty pleased about that! Oh and he bought himself a Moto GP beanie, so he was a happy little soldier.
On our last full day in Melbourne we went to meet Jade for lunch and then had a look around some of the shops. We checked out some of the wicked Graffiti and got some excellent pics. I finally had my hair cut for $26 - result! and then we went back to meet Jade for dinner. Some of Jades friends came too and we had a lovely last evening with them all. Ant ate a kilo of chicken covered in cheese and tomato sauce for dinner. I'm not sure he would have actually finished it, if someone hadn't said 'you'll never eat all that!'. I told him not to say later "I've got a tummy ache!", but sure enough he didn't sleep too well and couldn't put his finger on why! lol... chozer...!
Wednesday came far too fast and before we knew it we had to say goodbye and catch our flight to Sydney! We wished we'd have stayed longer but nevermind! Time flies when your having fun and fun we definitely had!
