Amy's travels
Hello everyone,
Today is a bank holiday in Malaysia - although we didn't find out until yesterday! - as it is their Independence Day to celebrate their independence from Britain. So we have come into Central KL (KLCC) to see all the flags and stalls.
The week at the hospital has been going well and we will be sad to leave. Last night we went to the longest night market in KL, which is over 1 km in length and was so busy that you literally couldn't move at times. Susan selected lots of local food for Helen and me to try, such as eggs boiled in herbal tea (surprisingly nice), tofu cake, red bean cake, spicy sweet and sour noodles, curried fruit, and curried fish ball kebabs. It was all delicious. I could have spent a fortune on cheap clothes and CDs but managed to restrain myself. We then watched the fireworks counting down to Malaysia day at midnight from my flat (which is on the 13th floor of the tower block so you get a prety good view of KL).
I hope you are all well,
Lots of love,
