We took a drive over to Northam only 25 klms away this morning for a look and a coffee. Went to the visitor centre where they had a display of the immigrants during the late 40's and early 50's which was really interesting. There was a coffee shop there overlooking the River Avon where there were several white swans. We went back to Toodyay via Clackline but all there was there was a store. We came back to our van for lunch and then in the afternoon we drove the Julimar Road strip. Unfortunately things weren't going our way. Firstly we went to the Earth Sculptures studio but it was closed. We drove on to the Catref Park Country Gardens. There was no one there but a notice to say we could still do the walk. It looked pretty run down and the tea shop looked like it had been closed down for years. We drove on towards Bindoon checking out the Alicia Winery where we have booked for dinner tonight. We finally arrived at Bindoon and bought some oranges - lots of orange groves in this area- and went to the lovely bakery there for a nice coffee. We then went back to the museum to find that it was closed. Then the lady from Alicia Winery phoned to say that they weren't doing dinner tonight- so not much going our way. We drove back to Toodyay and had showers and prepared to leave early tomorrow morning. We went back in to town and had dinner at Vince's Italian Restaurant. Watching Essendon getting beaten by Richmond!
