Hello again. It's great to be in a nice temperature again so after a walk about the shops it was time for a snorkel. With Steph still having a cold and coughing she was unable to enjoy it but at least she tried and I had a very enjoyable snorkel with the reef fish. The afternoon was whittled away relaxing under our awning catching up on some reading till it was time to have a few drinkies at the local and wander home after dark with a yummy pizza.
It was a early start for me on Friday for a days fishing ( 7am till 5pm ) on a charter boat that trolls for game fish and also does bottom fishing. The first hook up was a very large fish which had everyone excited as it was thought to be a Marlin but after 20 mins when the fish was brought up beside the boat it turned out to be a large shark of approx 200 k/g. Next three fish brought aboard were tuna before it was time to steam out 20 k/m to reef fish in about 60 m of water. You only keep the fish that you catch and with a limit bag of 5 fish each so of the 7 fish I caught I elected to take home 3 red emperor and two spangled emperor of similar size which are top eating fish. All fish kept ( approx 50 caught between 11 of us )had to be recorded and returned to shore and were filleted and bagged at the town's fish cleaning facility and given back to you ready to eat and stock up your freezer. No guessing what was for dinner that night , very yummy! I had a fantastic day and as it was my first time on a game fishing boat I learnt a lot about big game fishing so I just may have to try it again sometime hopefully with Steph next time when she's cold free. Steph said that she had a nice relaxing day with a visit to the well stocked local bakery followed by a afternoon nap. The forecast was for a big blow overnight ( up to 100 k/m )and it sure rocked our van about , and it must have been a bit scary for all those in tents! The forecast is looking good from now on but it it still warm anyway and we have extended our stay for another two nights and more if we want to. Bye for now.

Sue Those fish look really good Chris, Mike was very envious wishes he could have been there. Really cold here with real ripper frosts. Hope the cold gets better soon Steph.
Stephanie Hi Sue. Yes have been reading about the frosts don't miss them at all your highs are less than our lows. Have tried the fish very nice. Cold seems to be getting better. I was wondering if Janette may have called into Coral Bay on her way to Exmouth last year. Take care keep warm! XX
