Day 50:
Well, Esperance is partying tonight on the Palmer money. We had booked the car in for service about 3 weeks ago and so we knew we would be up for some funds. The boy arose early and was up at 8am at the Auto place. By 9 they had rung us saying our rear brakes were cactus, yes replace please and the tyres were not good. Yep, we knew we were going to replace them on arrival home so said don't worry about them, we had checked them and the outsides were fine we thought. We went for walk and by 10 we got a picture of the tyres …erchhhh the insides were horrendous. So, Friday is not such a great day to try to do all this in a town the size of this but they were super fabulous and worked miracles. After a few phone calls from us the Tyre people, Tyrepower, rang the Service people and found out what kind of tyre we needed. At the end of service the tyre people went down and picked up car for us and put tyres on. 'Wheel balance' we asked, sorry we don't do that but the service people do. So, Tyre people drove the car back to Service dept, these are 1 kms apart in an industrial area and the wheel balance was done. Cost about $2000 total but the tyres happened to be on sale and we got a further discount for buying four we think. All the while we sat at the van whilst these people sashayed around the town for us. Super excellent service and we think it was quite cheap for the stuff done AND we got a free packet of tissues (the pocket size only - yeehah). Eventually by 2pm we had The Fonz back and went for a drive on the Great Ocean drive. Rough and windy today but oh so fantastically beautiful. Pics just do not show the magnificent colours, mints to teal to every shade of the blue spectrum. Just love this place for beauty.
