It's been a murky, cloudy day, not what you usually get from San Diego but for all that the relative cool was a nice change from the searing desert heat.
After breakfast in the pergola outside our room we went and checked out the display area. We ran into Jeff and chatted for a bit then Randy arrived and joined in.
We put it out there that we were going to the aquarium if anyone wanted to join us and Radny and Joel both decided they would.
It was only a short drive away perched high up above the ocean. It was a nice small aquarium with some good reef tanks but the stand out was the sea horse and leafy dragon displays.
From there we headed to Old San Diego for lunch at the Tequila Factory. Great food, fish tacos for us all except Pete who had a huge plate of beef nachos. I behaved and kept it to one tequila cocktail which like the tacos was delicious.
The others had to get back and start to set up their booth so we dropped them back to the hotel. We had a bit of a lie back, I checked emails etc & Pete downloaded the last couple of days pics.
I found a Groupon for a kayaking trip with the leopard sharks, seals etc tomorrow; 35ea so booked that.
We went back towards La Jolla to check out the seals. We didn't have to go far to find heaps of them, lounging on the rocks and seemingly happy for us mere humans to get quite close to them. There were also cormorants, pelicans, seagulls and even a squirrel made a cameo appearance to complete our wildlife viewing.
Traffic was heavy getting back to our hotel but it wasn't too bad, certainly not LA bad anyway.
After a bit of a rest we headed back to the hall. It's really taking shape. We found Marc Levenson and he joined us, Randy and Josh for dinner at the on site sports bar. The food was surprisingly good, elk priced and the pear cider outstanding. It was a fun night but we all wound it up by 9.30, they'd all been working all day to get their booths done.
