Sat Oct 8th:
It was a gorgeous warm, blue sky day. We set off after breakfast again heading west with no definite destination in mind. We lost a couple of days due to staying an extra day over that which I had planned back in Aust by staying longer in State College and North Carolina. Originally we planned on dipping a little south into Mississippi, Louisiana and then to Marc's in DFW. now we just need to zip across a bit quicker than planned to allow us enough time in LA to visit some suppliers and do our customary repack.
Setting the GPS for Little Rock we used the highways so it was a bit of a nothing day. We got into LR a bit after 5pm, settled in and only went out to do some grocery shopping. Dinner then we worked a bit before an early night.

Sun Oct 9th:
Another sunny day. Setting off after breakfast we saw a fair bit of Little Rock mainly due to a series of detours due to the bridge across the river being replaced. It was quiet on the tree lines streets, most either sleeping in or in church.
We've caught up to schedule so we set the GPS to avoid highways and went further west through the Ozark plateau countryside. Not many people about other than a few setting off hunting and lots at the rural churches. Even small towns with low populations of 200 or so had up to four churches which all looked to be well attended.
No idea why but a lot of the towns had names with obvious Spanish origins; Casa, Ola, Havana to name but a few. Others had a bit more of a frontiersman feel like Booneville.
It was mostly forests and a few large sawmills, rural chicken and cattle properties including some with Texan long horns. Most looked to be quite well maintained and prosperous.
We crossed the state line into Oklahoma just after midday. For the most part not much changed other than we started seeing fewer fracking operations and more oil derricks.
We stopped on Route 66 in Clinton Ok for the night, left over chicken Thai curry followed by stuffed potatoes for dinner and an early night.
