We arrived at Rotterdam Centraal station at 11am from Amsterdam and went to the train information booth to find out where tourist information was. Walked out of the station to the Tourist Information Centre and found out which trains and buses we needed to catch to get to Kinderdijk and what tickets we needed.
We then went to get our 15-strippenkarte but needed coins so returned to the train information booth and were told we could buy the tickets at a ticket office in the square outside the train station. We finally got our tickets and validated 7 strips for the trip to Kinderdijk. We then caught the metro from Centraal station to Zuidplein and then caught the number 154 bus to Kinderdijk.
Arrived in Kinderdijk at 1.30pm and had lunch at the café before beginning our walk along the dijks to see the windmills. It was an amazing sight with so many windmills in such a small area and worth the trip in the end.
We caught the bus back to Rotterdam Zuidplein and then caught the metro back to Centraal Station. We finally caught the 4pm train back to Amsterdam.
