Day 79 (day 6)
"Well I was standing on a corner..."
I left Al this morning after a good long breakfast. It's weird to have a riding buddy for so many miles then BAM, you're riding alone. But we did have an amazing time and We both look forward to our next big trip/ride together.
So, I headed out of Vegas and back thru the hoover dam (again) One gets sick of that dam when you ride thru it 3 times in less then 5 days.
I rode route 40 eastbound, which is just a long 2-lanes of highway overcrowded with big rigs. Not a lot of fun, but pretty much the only route to get me back to Albuquerque.
Boring ride today, and I even kidded myself with the idea of just hauling ass to Albuquerque. It would have been the ride from hell, and at about 600 miles, although do-able, would have just been too much. So here I am in Winslow arizona, when it dawns on me.... and I start singing that Eagles song.
I actually did stand on a street corner in winslow arizona, but saw no girl in a flat bed ford. Actually it was a really run down town, and not a whole heck of a lot going on. Which is weird that it wound up in a song.
It's getting cold too. and the winds are picking up. Tomorrow's forcast is calling for 50's with winds gusting up to 20 mph. UGH! I can deal with cold but wind is a real b****...especially with truckers on the hwy at 80+ mph.
Im off to bed.
peace everyone
