Day 77
Yabba Dabba AWESOME!
This morning started out pretty good. It was a little cool, but warmed up nicely throughout the day...and Al's snoring didnt keep me up all night! (sorry Al)
Al and I were talking about the lack of wildlife that we had been seeing..or NOT been seeing as the case was. when all of a sudden a big antelope ran across the highway in front of Al's bike, and then about a mile further down the road we saw this HUGE Vulture picking at the remains of a dead animal on the side of the same road. weird!
So we rode South towards Arizona, and made it to the Glen Canyon Dam. I think this is the lesser known Dam on the Colorado river in Az. But was equally as cool as the Hoover Dam. From there, we rode on till we got to the Grand Canyon. Man, this is going to be the understatement of the year, but that canyon is HUUUUGE! It's just unbelievable just how big it is and how far it goes beyond your view. Just amazing.
So...after all of that, we continued south towards Flagstaff and saw this awesome tourist trap on the side of the road. First we saw a huge plastic Fred Flinstone, then followed by the sign. BEDROCK CITY..... SCREEEEECH went the brakes, and We pulled in. OK...Al follwed me in, it was all my idea. But hell...was SOOO worth it.
so we entered the building and found out it was just 5 bucks to see the whole place. I was sold, and quickly handed the lady my 5 dollar bill. Well....this place was deserted and cool and a little creepy too. It was built back in the 70's and whoever built it did an awesome job. there are PLENTY of vids to check out. and I got tons of gingy pics as well...lets face it..gingy HAD to go in too.
So we spent a good 30 mins there checking out the place. Hell..we even slid down the back of the brontosaurus tail...too cool. you gotta love these odd little tourist traps that you wont find anywhere else.
At any rate, we are now held up in Williams Arizona, on old route 66, which is pretty cool, and part of route 66 that still is in its preserved old fashioned 50's look. very cool! though our stinky ass motel is...well...stinky...and smells of ass. what can I say?
So tomorrow we ride west towards the Hoover Dam, and then back to vegas.
278 miles today, and great weather. I havent uploaded any pics yet, but hope to soon
peace everyone!
