Day 80
Home is where the heart is
Sigh...this is where I end this book of travels. This isnt to say that I wont start a new one in some near future. I'm pretty sure I will. New Zealand, Australia, The South Pacific. heck, maybe even western USA. Only time will tell.
I woke up in Winsow to heavy winds, and rode my butt east back to Albuquerque. I could make it there by 4PM and it should be a rather easy ride. Albeit the wind was kicking my ass, and even blew me from the right lane to the left passing lane then off the road into the dirt where to a stop where I then fought to keep my bike from blowing over. UGH!!
I waited for the massive semi's to pass and for a break in the road so I could get the bike back on the road and at 80MPH crusing speed.
sigh
I managed to make it back obviously and although it was a pretty adventureless ride. At least it was a ride in one piece. Thankfully too, as the weather report was calling for cold, more high winds and snow for tomorrow. glad I made it back today!
I'm now back in Albuquerque and aologize for these late updates. It was hard to stay on top of it while hanging with Al as it was just more fun to have a buddy along to BS with.
Wow...80 days!
11,842 total miles
Now, I really don't know what the future holds. But then, who does?
But what I do know is...
-that Al is already wanting to plan another bike trip.
-that I really like being here in abq with Ashley and family.
-that I am sorely missing music and band life, and really want to gig, SOON! and hope to back in Philly, when I stop back to visit in dec.
-that it's been far too long since I've seen Kiwi.
-that Im slowly but surely writing new songs, and hope to start some basic recordings soon on my little macbook.
-that I'm looking forward to putting this movie together with friends that I wrote with Jean.
-that I really miss EVERYONE back east and can't wait to see you all.
-that, I want to buy a new motorbike, but yet, love my little honda too.
-that I miss driving my mazda3
-that, I still want to finish my west coast riding plans when it gets warmer, and even heard from Bobby today and would love to go riding with the speedweenies again.
-that...traveling is in my blood now, and I'm starting to price trips to NZ and Aus.
-that, no matter what I am. Musician, film-maker, writer, creator, biker, traveler, adventurer... I'm blessed to have family and friends in my life who love me.
-and... that I would love to be on a tropical island right now sipping a cool drink and basking in the warm glowiness of the sun....but then...wouldn't everybody?
What an amazing last 80 days. All I can say is, these memories will last a lifetime, and more, and...I can't wait to make more of them, and... everyone go out..and just live life.
peace
