So after a ferry, train and plane ride we arrived in christchurch slightly disorientated from getting up so early and also because everything looked quite english!! the weather was grey and chilly too. We arrived a t a nice hostel called the old country house and felt a little bit sad thinking about Australia!!! After a good sleep and several cuppas we felt ready to face the challenge of getting a new van to explore NZ with. We headed to the backapcker car market and saw a few nice vans but as it was only our first day of looking we didnt test drive anyhitng. We had alook round christchurch and it was very small and quiet!! We were really praying about getting the right van and god was definatly helping us out, when we were ready to test drive some vans its almost like god was saying not that one, not that one!!! one wouldnt even start when the owner was trying to show us his van and another bloke was a complete nutter and said we couldnt test drive his car on a saturday because it was against his religion!! we finally settled on a toyota townace which is just like a people carrier with a mattress in the back, it seemed ok but we wanted to get it mechanically checked out first. It was fine so we went ahead and bought it!!! We gave it the name Rodney as Kam often sings rodney when hes having a shower (bless him!)

We wewre just about to head out and buy some bedding for our trip when a girl from our hostel said her van had blown up and she had brand new bedding we could buy off her...nice one (not about her van blowing up though!!)

We had one last day looking round christchurch and went down to the botanical gardens which were lovely , christchiurch was nice but we felt the need to get out of there and explore!!

So with Rodney all geared up we set off on our NZ adventure!!!
