and we're off...

It was Friday I was just finishing work for the first time in 12 days, I was shattered it was bad weather (probably) and I got home to the hostel and had a slight mishap with my car as I couldn't get in the security gate when I got there as it wouldn't open properly, so I reversed back out to park out the front instead and that would be easy for a normal person but well I'm not really normal am I? And as I often told I am not the best driver in the world… so of course I bumped my bumper off the code post and did a wee bit of damage to my bumper… seriously. As if anyone else in the world has had as many issues as I have had with bumpers. So I screamed out loud and went in and saw Adam and made him move my car for me while I had a shower as I just couldn't be arsed with the hassle so he got it in the car park after fixing the gate for me and I left it for tomorrow to sort out as it was Friday wasn't it?! Pub night! So after some food we all headed to the Settlers of course - where else! It turned out Billy Oceans dad and uncles were playing that night too which was lucky they were so cool and old and funky looking (disclaimer, I'm not officially sure they were real Ocean family members but they sure looked like it) I had a few rum and cokes and then the pub early to go to bed as I was shattered!

So the next day was 31st July it was a Saturday perhaps? I was off work! Happy days, even happier days I had WEETOS for breakfast oh my god. Literally, the best cereal in the whole wide world. It was a happy morning for sure. Me and Adam had a road trip planned to find some amazing waterfall. But of course we first had to fix my bumper - which isn't actually as bad as it sounds it's actually just cracked a bit and my bumper is very low for a bumper in general so it's only a bit on the corner and not the full corner… so I tied it up with a shoelace at first then we headed to the farm on my day off. Typical. I figured I would get Garry from work to fix it for me as he's handy with cars and Adam had diagnosed my tyre needed pumping up so Sam was going to do that. But of course I'd had a huge lie in and then spent ages having breakfast (weetos hello) so as we pulled into the corner where work is Sam and Garry were driving past going home waving happily at us haha. f***ing hell. So we went to the farm anyways and I got some proper farm string which is tough to replace my shoelace fix and then got as many cable ties as I could to cable tie it up so we did that and now my bumper is fully secure! Happy days.

Since we were at the farm I figured I would show Adam the calves as they are basically the cutest little animals ever so we went to see them in their pen and he instantly got a favourite one 3191 which is a cute little thing, she is very playful with humans and isn't scared at all so she's a good one. She also has massive googly eyes which I think are freaky but oh so cute at the same time. So after playing with the calves for a little bit we headed off on our waterfall hunting adventure. We arrived at Meekadarabee Falls and walked on up to see it but basically just found a dam but it was pretty anyways. The walk to get there was really creepy though it was proper horror movie style!! It was a rehabilitation area as it had been wrecked from bush fires so there was a mixture of dead plants and new lillies so it was quite cool but also very creepy. There was also some lizards about and I looked for snakes but saw none! I swear the whole snakes in Australia is a massive media lie!

Anyways the day we did our road trip it was worst weather ever, windy as hell all day and rain on and off all day so it was a lovely day to head to some beaches… we went to Ellensbrook beach, Moses Rock and Injidup beach. They were all absolutely stunning beaches which is always nice rain, wind or sun. At Moses Rock beach there was massive sand dunes so we ran all the way to the top of one and I was wrecked when we made it as it was well high and then the sand proper whipped us when we got to the top which was painful as the wind really was terrible which was so annoying!!

We went to Bootleg Brewery for lunch which was amazing I got steak and vegetable pie with chips and it was proper lush!! We got a beer taster set too so we could try all 7 beers on tap there some were disgusting but some were also pretty damn nice. It's the best brewery so cosy and like a local so it was canny. It would be well nice on summers day as there was a lot of outside space it was cool, and there was also some acoustic sets on so it was sweet!

We then went over to Duckstein Brewery as James was working there and I said I would pick him up to get home as he doesn't have a car so we had a pint in there which was amazing Pale Ale! The first thing he said to us was 'I've been kicked out the Caravan Park - I have to move out by 6pm tonight' it was now 4.45pm haha! What an idiot. Apparently they had been very noisy the night before and received something mad like 25 noise complaints so they had been woken up at 8am to be told they had until 6pm to get out but it was his first day at work so he just had to go to work and leave Connor to be responsible for packing up their stuff and finding them somewhere to live haha. This would only ever happen to Jim!! We figured they would end up back at the hostel but it turned out Hostel Ben rejected them from coming back so they ended up being homeless for a night so the caravan park actually let them stay for 2 more nights until they could move into some other holiday apartments. What a nightmare! That night me and Adam made the best Fajitas ever for tea and Welsh Ben had gave us a lush bottle of red so we were flashpackers for the night!!

At work we have a cow speaking machine on the rotary where the cows get on and it tells the cups on side if there is anything to be aware of like if they have a certain teat that doesn't produce milk so they don't cup that one and it tells me if I should keep them separate from the other cows for example 'draft me' its hilarious basically and keeps me entertained mainly because it says it as if it's the actual cow speaking to us. When the cows don't get off the machine after the first time round it says to cups on side 'I'm going round again' and on my cups off side it's says 'get rid of me' one for ages has also said 'please remove stitch after prolapse, draft me' haha which was always a favourite of mine as it's a shame that everyone now knows about the poor cows prolapse. Nothing is sacred in our farm haha. The other day Sam changed the machine for one of the cows which is a troublesome cow that gets on at the beginning and stays on until the very end (over one hour on the cow merry go round basically) it's a nightmare cow and it's not scared of us at all and headbutts me if I get up to get it off. Sam changed it so it now says 'get rid of me Tracy' so it says my name officially now which is so lovely haha! It's one of my favourite things about work I think!!

On the Friday after I finally finished work and me, Adam, Francesco, Welsh Ben, Sam and Max went to Colonial Brewery for Pizza night as its $10 a pizza which is very cheap so we headed there and I got myself some lovely Pale Ale, its well nice in there its a shame all the breweries are miles away and someone has to drive. Its well in Kangaroo land too which is exciting on the way back hoping you dont hit a Roo! By exciting I mean its scary as if you hit a Roo your car probably wont survive and you might not too. They are very silly animals. Cute but very daft.

On the Saturday I was up early with the cows at 5 for work bad times, when I came back on my break everyone started playing Goon Pong and drinkin Goon which made me very jealous as I had to go back to work for at least 5 hours! bad times indeed. it was all in celebration of it being the last weekend Chris, Ginger Alex, Posh Matt, Patrik and Alex B would be together as Ginger Alex was leaving on the Friday and the rest the week after. so they were all well getting on it along with everyone else at the hostel. However before they started drinking a few of us were sitting outside in the sun and Alex B went in his for something and reversed a million miles per hour and had his door wide open and instantly crashed straight into Stew and Bens camper van thing which made a massive noise. His car wheel spinned it went that quick too. oh dear. So he did a big bump in the side of their Van and smashed the corner of his lights off at the back completely too so it wasnt very good although we all said it could have been worse as he went at some speed. He said he was driving with the wrong foot and realised his door was open and went to slam on the brake but instead pushed the wrong pedal and reversed so fast instead, oopsies. It was also quite funny for the people not involved haha. Alex B also claims to be 'the worlds best reverser' how emabarrsing!

So anyways I went to work and came back and everyone was smashed obviously. I went to pay rent and Jules was on and he was like 'those guys out there are getting alittle rowdy and a bit too drunk, I've already warned them a few times now' he was quite annoyed. so I went and got showered to rid the poo smell and got changed into my party outfit of denim shorts and top and best boots and got myself some passion pop from the shop, meanwhile adam was making me a lovely tea of fish fingers beans and jacket potato rock and roll. While we were eating our tea Alex B spent the whole time trying to steal our food, he was so smashed it was hillarious because he never usually gets drunk so it was funny. Posh Matt was so drunk he was falling asleep mid conversation and we then realised ginger Alex was in bed fast asleep (it was about 6.30pm) by 7.10pm Alex B was in bed and then Jules came and told us that he was not to have anymore drink if he got out of bed and apparently he had been sick haha. Posh Matt followed soon and was in bed by around 8pm. Chris was so proud he was the last man standing by this point. We then smuggled Dom and his girlfriend Sarah in to the hostel for some drinks as they were leaving on the monday to head back to Melbourne. So we all had a good few drinks before we headed to the settlers of course. we werent allowed in the main room that night as some massive band were playing so we had to make do with the poor peoples side but it was ok I was pretty drunk!

The next day after a lovely lie in I had an amazing weetos breakfast woohoo! While I got ready Adam made us a lovely little picnic and we headed off to Moses Rock in search of the waterfall again... we got to the right part of the beach and got on the cape to cape track and off we headed but of course we did not find it we ended up on some weird dirt path full of lizards and mud and lots of 4x4 tyre marks everywhere - no way would I ever let Marina the Barina in the end of the world it was awful mud roads. I then realised a family of MASSIVE Kangaroos were staking us out and proper watching us intently. Kangaroos freak me out when I'm on foot as Hurdi in Manjimup told me Kangaroos attack and kill people and you should never scare then as they attack so I was a bit scared as we noticed they had a baby Roo so were already feeling defensive for us I think. They were edging closer and closer to us so I was frantically trying to run away without seeming like I was running away, oh dear. Anyways obviously you are reading my words here so no need to panic guys because I am alive. Adam is too incase you were worried I sacrificed him to save myself. We made it. Just!

so we headed back to the beach as I didnt wanna be killed by the kangaroos and we literally had the whole beach to ourselves all day it was lush and it was actually a lovely hot sunny day (I got sunburn to prove it) and Moses Rock is probably the nicest beach I have actually been to in Margs too as its all cute little coves and beautiful hills behind you and good sand dunes so it is beautiful. I was very happy there for the day its a gorgeous little spot. I also got to use my new Margaret River beach towel which is beautiful so I was a very happy girl! when we left and were heading back up the terrible road to get on the main road one of the evil kangaroos that has been staking us out was waiting for us in the middle of the road haha. Told you there were scary!!

When we got back to the hostel that night Jim was in the kitchen randomly and reminded me I'd invited myself over for dinner the night before when I'd saw Christiano at the pub haha so that sorted our tea out!! I apparently had requested the italians cook me real italian food so we arrived to homemade real italian carbonara which was bloody amazing!! I was over the moon with it, we had a few wines too it was a lush little night in.

On the monday it was Adams birthday so i went to work as per usual at 7am and then I had the afternoon off work so I came back made us a english breakfast and then we went to Amaze'n which is Australias largest maze apparently? Not sure how true that is anyways but it was quite fun as I dont think I've ever been in one of those mazes before. you had to make it to the middle and then make it out the exit and we made it to middle and we could hear some people getting really pissed off that they couldnt get out and kept getting dead near to the middle but not ever really appearing in the middle it was so funny. We then were heading towards the exit we hoped and we could still hear that they hadnt made it to the middle. throughout the maze there was some emergency exits throughout and we made it out the real exit which mean we had of course completed the maze. Probably the proudest moment of my life to be honest, I could not have been more over the moon! we eventually saw the people who had gotten lost and we saw that they had quit and left via the emergency exits haha. Losers! So basically after the grass maze there wasnt much else to do there but walk through some gardens and do another maze that had a million bees in so we did that and we felt we'd completed the day there. Amaze'n really is Amazing haha.

We then got back in the car and headed to Hamlin Bay, we stopped for ice cream when we got there from the Caravan Park shop and they had a sign on the desk saying they had spotted 14 humpback whales the day before and also 2 dolphins so that excited me alot. We literally got on the beach and saw 2 whales straight away playing in the sea! How amazing!! I bloody love Margaret River so much wildlife to be seen here! We were buzzing! We then saw a few more playing quite far out how impressive!! Happy days indeed!! It was a little bit too exciting for Adam who then spent the next 15 mins on the toilet and then demanded I drive us home asap haha. Hamlin bay is miles away too haha. Nevermind we made it back without any accidents!

He of course made a speedy recovery and we went out that night for a meal and cocktails at Goodfellows which is an italian restaurant funnily enough. We both had Lasagne and Margaritas! It was lush, we ended up going there as there was literally no where else open in the whole of Margaret River apart from the pub. We ended up being kicked out of there too as we outstayed our welcome, apparently you should never stay in a restaurant past 10pm here or they dont like it!! So we headed off back to the hostel for the last time as the silly b***** was leaving in the morning. The next day I got up usual time and dropped Adam off for his bus to the Airport sad times. Gonna miss him tons!! my days off will never be the same again.

So after Adam left I moped around the hostel for a few days feeling lost and visited Jim alot and then finally it was Friday so I couldnt wait to finish worl so I could go out to Colonial and have a few beers and a pizza with everyone. But of course on Fridays when the cows know you want to be off at a decent hour they act up and dont move and then the rotary machine goes off loads and just as we were getting there a massive storm was brewing up and next thing you know the loudest thunder I have probably ever heard kicked off and then the power went off. Power cuts in the rotary are a disaster as it means all the cups fall of the cows and the computer goes off so when it comes back on again the programme is messed up. All the cows are listed on a computer screen for us so we know whats happening with them so we are continously always checking the screen for infomation. Farming is quite with the times these days you know! So the screen came back on in complete gobbledegook which was great. and we had to put the cups back on the cows (50 on the rotary at a time) it was also massively pissing it down and windy as heck which I did not appreciate of course! for some reason when the weather is particularly bad the cows get very naughty. Shame on them. Considering they have spent their WHOLE lives living in a paddock whatever the weather they are really upset when it rains or is windy which I think is udderly mental... sorry.

So anyways work drama sorted home and showered and it was brewery time! We literally made everyone in Margaret River play out so we had a massive table a bit like the Griffindor Table in Hogawarts in the Great Hall. A new girl had joined the hostel too looking for any work called Alannah from scotland age 18. She is lush and she is my best friend as apart from Mimi we have no girls here to be friends with so I am happy I have a normal girl for company again now!! And she's Scottish which I just love as she's more northern than me! I love Northerners of course!! So of course we made her come with us so she has joined our little family straight away, so hopefully she will get a job and never leave me haha. All of the boys spent some time chatting her up as she is 'fresh meat' poor lass. I had 2 pints of really strong Pale Ale like 6.8% or something and I was smashed. Chris was out and had a trial the next day at duckstein brewery and he kept saying all night 'well if anyone wants a job there is a trial at 10.30 tomorrow at the brewery cos I wont be there' haha it was funny!!We then all went to the Settlers obviously for a rum and coke and a boogie. A Australian man also approached me saying 'Hi Tracy, hows your friend Kate?' and I was like ...??? I had no idea who he was. It transpired that one day when me and Kate were in the Settlers we asked him to get us some drinks and then told him our life stories!! haha! Oops. No memory of that, However when I asked Kate she vaguely maybe remembered!! after a bit socialising with the troops we headed back home for sleep!!

On the Saturday in obvious Margaret River style as I was off work the weather was s***! it literally rained all day long I was furious. Me, Ben and Stew had a full on english breakfast that we all made together it was amazing. They had been given some 100% beef sausages from their farmer and they were completely amazing. the best sausages I have ever had. We had 2 each but none of us could eat 2 as they were so meaty! It was truely the best fry up ever we had everything!! and they have real butter (flashpackers) so we had butter on toast and HP sauce we were spoiled!! I was then so stuffed I went for a nap on the sofa in the tv room with my lovely blanket. It was lovely!!

On the night time we had a Mexican Mustache party for French Max and Posh Ben's birthdays, we all paid $20 each and in return we were provided with Tequila, 6 bottles of corona each, more limes than you could shake a stick at, steak burritos, proper nachos and a ton of doritos. I'm not sure how they managed it for $20 each but it was brilliant!! proper party night, Max was in charge of everyones mustaches which he was in his element with. We all sat around like a happy family it was well canny. We also got one of the other new girls in the hostel involved shes welsh called Hazel and a bit mental she's a perfect candidate to my new friend too. There was also a australian girl in that night too who was lovely so we had a proper girls crew for the first time ever!! We all spent some time getting drunk etc and ended up playing flip cup which is basically the most pressurised drinking game ever its like the olympics of drinking games. I was on Max's team and we wont 2 out 3 rounds so we are offically the champions of Flip Cup yey! To celebrate our team had some extra tequila and then it was time for the pub again!!

There was a hip hop band on from Perth they were wicked it was amazing the settlers was the most lively and excited I've ever seen it. Alannah was proper smashed bless her, I looked after her though of course - good egg me! We ended up going back to Welsh Bens house drinking jack daniels and playing with his housemates 3 legged dog which was pretty funny when he was running round everywhere proper hobbling along!! Eventually we headed back to the hostel and Posh Ben was serenading everyone with his guitar skills it was lush!

On the Sunday it was actually a nice day, I got up packed my stuff up as I was moving house again, had breakfast and then moved into the caravan park into a lovely cabin with 3 italian boys, I have a huge double bed which is amazing, I share a room with Richard who is probably the best looking boy in Margaret River I say boy hes 29, even the boys have the hots for him. He's half english half italian so his english is just like he is english no accent I mean. So I am now the envy of a million girls here... oh yeah there isnt any girls here haha. In the other bedroom there is Marco and Lorenzo. They are both absolutely lush too, lovely boys. Marco speaks better english than Lorenzo so there is a bit of a language barrier sometimes but its ok. Its nice having a house for one. comfy sofas and we watch movies every night so I feel right at home!! We also have heating which is amazing as the hostel was always freezing but i'm nice and toasty here so its good. Only downfall is no WIFI! this is still just a temporary home for me of course as I will be moving into James next week which will be my final home in Margs before I go road tripping I believe!!

So after I moved in there I went back to the hostel to meet Francesco and Alannah and off we went to the beach to meet some of Francescos Italian friends who were coming for the day. We ended up at Gas Bay which is a lovely beach and of course deserted apart from a few dogs running round watching their owners surf up!!
