After a s***ty flight due to turbulence and me winding myself up about it all and eventually making Scott nervous, we were glad to land on Thai soil!
Immigration was easier than we thought, got a little wound up because we were told we would have to either book something to show we are leaving the country before our visa expired and that they're really tough on you, well if they're anything like the US they'd be close to having me in tears because they're meanies! But I think this immigration officer was about to finish her night shift because all she mumbled was 'look in camera' - well that was the easiest country I've ever entered! It's not that easy to enter the blinking UK!
We grabbed our bags pretty quick and headed downstairs for the public taxis, us pair of baboons went straight to the curb side and tried to grab a taxi only to find out that you had to queue to get a ticket and have a designated taxi. We were giving everyone the scowl, like they've just nicked our taxi... We spotted him first! Haha.
Scott was flat out asleep in the taxi, I don't know how I kept my eyes open because I was ready to fall asleep on a chickens lip! These 4am wake up calls for flights are killing us off and we still have one more trip to go until we reach our Christmas destination!
Reached our hotel at the other airport, it has a tunnel going into the airport so it meant that we could have an extra hour in bed in the morning!
We have to get used to everyone greeting us with the hands in a prayer position and bowing their heads now, we have only been here five minutes and every time I've tried to do it back it's been a disaster because I've had something in my hands and it's a last minute thing, look like a right fool haha!
Our hotel is gorgeous, not on par with backpackers at all; we look like right Scruffs coming through the doors! We sat by the pool for an hour or two when we got there, had a dip and felt 100 times fresher and clean! Sand was driving me insane!
We went out early for food to the cafe on the bridge between the airport and hotel and I was in oils at 8pm, the bed was HEAVEN! I wasn't much company to Scott, I was asleep by 8.30 and safe to say I didn't move all night, I woke up in exactly the same spot! Waking up at 4am was horrendous, I could have slept through till god knows what time!
Anyways, onwards to KOH SAMUI!
