Ferry this morning to Koh Tao and then a long tail paddle boat to the island just off the mainland, Koh Nangyuan. It's the one you see whenever you type Thailand beaches into google or you see on posters and holiday brochures everywhere. And nearer enough always think that they photoshop it!
The ferry stopped at Koh Nangyuan before Koh Tao so we got off there to save us another boat journey back there; this was reluctant to one of the captains though. We all just piled passed him and got off! Stupid Asian man.
It was absolutely incredible! The water was nothing like I had ever seen, it looked like a fish tank, the water was crystal clear!! We had to pay 100B each to get on to the island and over the crockery bamboo bridges through the big soft looking boulders and 150B for two deck chairs! You weren't allowed to take plastic bottles in or cans because people would probably just throw them into the water! Because you always get that one idiot that wants to pollute a good looking beach!
We were all gobsmacked at how clean it all was and picturesque. It looked just as it did on the photos! - no photo shop! They went straight into the water snorkelling, I was joining this time only muggins got stuck with the mask that was way to big for my face and reached to the top of my lips. So my mask was constantly full with water; aunty Lynne and mum were off on a trek down the sand bank to check it was all real and there wasn't any drop back! The place is a resort, god know how much it would be to stay here the night even! And there wouldn't be many places to go, one restaurant is on the island that's it!
The sand isn't proper sand it's the white gravel and stones which is way better because you don't get sand in every nok and cranny when you get out of the sea then! There weren't a great deal of different variety fish but there were enough! Lots of parrot fish which were pretty to see!
We realised once we started trying to swim back that the current was incredibly strong, aunty Lynne and Terry got stuck so they had to have a rubber ring thrown in by some one hahaha!
I wanted a shower but they charge you 50B, bloody tip off this island is!
The water tastes nice out of the glass bottles though!
Walked up to the view point after a bite to eat, the wooden bridge wound around the massive boulders and rocks until eventually we had to climb 250 steps up to the very top... What a sight! It was totally worth it!! It doesn't look real that we are somewhere so beautiful!
The last bus back to Koh Phangan was at 3pm which is pants! So we caught a rickety old wooden long tailed paddle speed boat back to the mainland which only took 10 minutes. Dad was our hostess, demonstrating our emergency exits and where our life jackets are! He's so funny!
Ross wasn't stopping at lime n soda tonight because he had to get up early in the morning with mum and dad and we would have left so it was easier for him to go and stay up with them, only he forgot all his stuff in the safe so had to come back down to the hotel anyways! Plonker.
Our time in the islands have come to an end today, the passed two weeks have flown by I can't believe how fast time is flying! Ever though the weather could have been better the last few days haven't been to fault with hardly any clouds! Sad to leave, it means their holiday is nearly over and they'll be going home soon :(
