The Awesome Foursome
We got up early this morning and after watching a man from the village finish building our bamboo raft we had some breakfast and then prepared for the last day of our trek.
The raft was surprisingly stable at first until all four of us were on it and it started to sink, so much so that they had to tie another length of bamboo on it!
The rafting was really good fun especially when we went through rapids and Barry and Martyn soon got the hang of steering the raft whilst Jody and Kirsty sat back and relaxed (thats the way it should be!).
After about 2 hours of rafting we arrived at our lunch stop, and basically the end of our trek. We took a group photo with Sammy our guide in it and then it was time to head off back to base.
On the way back to Chiang Mai we stopped off at a butterfly and orchid farm, which was really pretty - although Martyn and Barry weren't very enthusiastic about it!
After all that walking, elephant riding and river rafting we were completely knackered and treated ourselves to a well deserved MacDonalds dinner!
Then this evening we went to an English pub called the Red Lion, then onto a bar called 'the cheeky bar' whilst we watched some thai boxing and a transvestite show which the boys particularly enjoyed!
