The girls overslept this morning and were awoken by the boys banging on their door - impressive though because they got ready in 5 minutes flat - makes a change!! We got an 8am ferry from the west coast of Koh Samui to mainland Thailand and from there a bus to Derek's Tour terminal (who we were travelling with), where we were charged a whole 10 baht just to sit there - cheek! After an hour wait we were picked up by an 'air conditioned' minibus and taken to Phuket Town on the Phuket island. We decided to stay in Phuket Town for one night before heading to the west coast and so we chose the On and On hotel as seen in the film The Beach! It is a spooky hotel - but it was quite cool to stay there! This evening we walked miles trying to find the centre part of Phuket Town where the shops and restaurants are, we gave up after getting lost and hailed a tuk tuk - turns out we were just around the corner! We naughtily ate at KFC and had delicious icecreams at a proper icecream parlour! We had a wander around the shops and Jody and Kirsty purchased wooden elephants - cool! Then it was on to a couple of bars - another one with live music which was really good!
