It was another relaxing morning and after brekkie we lazed around the caravan and then we went and watched Rog fish near the point. He wasn't successful this time but we were lucky enough to spot another Dugong and this time it was about 3 metres from the shore and was swimming towards the point very slowly. I think I watched it for about 30 mins. Rog was lucky enough to see a shark (which is what I was hoping to spot). We also saw some turtles. The kids had a lovely time playing in the sand and running up and down the sand dunes. We also spoke to the couple that we met at Whalebone Bay. We then came back to the caravan for lunch and I sat for a while at the lookout near our caravan watching the waves crashing in. They were huge and everywhere you looked the waves were coming towards the shore and the blowhole cliffs. We were hoping to go snorkelling but when we got to the lagoon the waves were so big they were rolling right through and the current was really strong so instead we sat at the blowholes for 1 ½ hours watching the huge waves crashing over the cliffs and the water even came into the carpark. We also enjoyed watching the whales putting on a real show constantly jumping out of the water and tail slapping and fin slapping - I was in awe and could have kept watching them for hours. We also had a good chat to lots of people who came to see the blowholes. We then went back to the caravan and Rog cooked risotto in preparation for dinner. We then went and watched Rog fish again near the point and again no luck but he spotted heaps of sea turtles. Again the kids and I played in the sand and the sand dunes. We then went home for the yummy risotto and an early night. We have really enjoyed our stay at Point Quobba and everyone we have met has been so friendly so we have been constantly talking to people. We are heading to Coral Bay tomorrow.
