Day 62 - Perth
Today we are spending the day in Perth CBD. We drove into the city and parked then walked to The Perth Mint. We looked at the shops which included coins, jewellery and other souvenirs. We were lucky to see some more beautiful pink diamonds from argyle diamond mine. Apparently the mine will be closing next year as they aren’t finding enough diamonds. Now I wish we had done the tour whilst we were in Kununurra. We held a gold bullion worth about $500,000 and the kids stepped on special scales to see what their weight in gold is (Josh is $2,368,555.00 and Bronte is $2,062,935.00). They then had lots of fun designing their own special medallions which were printed on a special Perth Mint Coin.
Next we hopped on a free city bus to Hay St Mall. Bronte was very happy as she is missing going shopping and always asks what shops will be at each town. We went into lots of shops and enjoyed wandering around. The kids were treated to a slushie from McDonald’s too!
We then got the free bus to Elizabeth Quay. The boys both got haircuts and we walked around the Quay. They played at the playground and we saw The Bell Tower and heard the bells chime. We then got the free bus back to our car.
We drove to Cottesloe Beach and both the kids had a swim. There was a lot of seaweed so it was a bit smelly but this is very unusual as normally they don’t have any seaweed. Rog was very happy as all the girls were wearing very skimpy bikini bottoms.
After a big day we drove back to our caravan for dinner.
