Day 55 - Point Quobba
The wind was so strong last night and it continued to howl all through the night until about 6am. We were so excited to wake up to a gentle breeze.
We had pancakes for breakfast and then we drove to the end of the sand dunes then continued walking south along the beach so the boys could go fishing. They fished for hours and finally Josh caught a little whiting and a little bream - he was very excited!
While Bronte and I watched the boys fish we did some school work, we read, we ran up the sand dunes, we watched all the crabs on the sand poking their heads out of their holes. We were hoping to spot some sea life but the water was really choppy. The boys saw a sea turtle and sting ray.
The boys finally gave up fishing and we went back to the caravan for lunch.
Then it was a quick change into our wetsuits so we could go snorkelling in the aquarium. The water was so clear and the fish and coral was so beautiful. The rest of the family were starting to get cold and no one wanted to snorkel with me anymore so I had to get out. I could of easily snorkelled for so much longer as it wasn’t too deep and I felt very safe but I’m too scared to snorkel by myself.
We went back to the caravan to warm up and play cards. Then Josh & I drove back to the blow holes again. The boys had another fish out the front but again no luck.
We had dinner, enjoyed another sunset over the beach and watched a movie.
