Catherine and I got a bus at 8:10am to go back to Wanaka as it had seemed like a really nice place to spemnd a few days at. We arrived there at 10am and checked into Base hostel in a 10 bed dorm. We were going to sunbathe at the lakefront but as it was a bit windey we asked in the inforamtion bureau about any good walks that they had that weren't too strenuous as we were still a bit tired from the late night that we had. We had a good lie in then got ourselves ready as we had booked to do the Nevis Swing for 12:40pm. I was feeling really nervous because of my fear of heights and I'd seen a film on the bus which made it look really scary. We arrived at Lake Matheson and did a quick walk to see Mount Cook and Mount Tasman reflected in the water below, which was amazing. We had the morning to relax so a big group of us headed to the supermarket to get ingredients for a group curry. We then headed down the West coast and stopped at Hokitika to look at the greenstone shops and headed to the beach to see if we could find any ourselves. We left early and did a scenic drive down to Greymouth. We stopped at Hawks Crag where we found a seal colony - they are very inactive mammals! - and there was also a sign with the various distances of world cities which Mia and I pretended to pole dance round for a photo.
