Day Four - Saturday
Well we woke up on Russell and Deb's footpath - well yes we were not drunk but just happily camped in Vicki.
Slow start, time to have some breakfast, play a bit of guitar before Russell and Deb made an appearance. It has rained very lightly and there was still the hint of rain in the air, so we went inside to discuss Russell's latest project - using a whole bunch of Corn Whiskey bottles to make a patterned window/light admitting areas in a concrete wall he was building in his back yard.
There was another wall to pour, which was all boxed up, so Sue photographed some of the birds in the Grivellia tree and I tried to be helpful as Russell and Deb mixed concrete and shoveled it into the boxing for the next wall - he does a great job - and I am sure it will look really good when it is finished.
After a late lunch we drove over to see Adam and his wife Christie - they live out at Gracemere - Sue has known Adam since he was a young boy - as his parents were in the side car club with Time and Sue many years ago. Well Adam was over the moon to see Sue and we had a good time catching up on what had happened over the last 15 years or so since they had last met.
So the day flew on and it was dark by the time we drove North to the Caves where Sue's cousin lives on a property between the Highway and the Coast.
We toured Judy's rather large house, viewed her many paintings and the had a a great chat over some home made stew.
All in all it was a very sociable day - the only bad thing that happened was Sue slipped down the stairs of the camper in the morning and, while she did not do any really major injury, she has sort of stretched bits that did not want to be stretched and bruised bits that would have been best left un-bruised.
Day Five - Sunday
Well Mal was up before sunrise when the sky was clear, however as the sun came closer to the horizon, a fog rolled in and shrouded the hills.
Judith came and Mal and Judith went down to check on her goats and walk the boundary of the 7 acre paddock. We all had breakfast before mal started to assemble the small garden shed for Judith but unfortunately Judith could not find the nuts and bolts for the kit so the walls were assembled but then work came to a halt.
We all drove down to the neighbours place to feed two very large pigs - that had gone to the pub or some place - then we gave the horses and cattle some molasses on the way back to the house. After a light but lovely lunch we left and started to head North again. We stopped at Waverly Creek rest area with many other caravans and had an early finish to a busy week end.
