TUESDAY - location just West of Eyre Creek
It had rained consistently through the night, outside the sandy plain was a series of small water holes.
The sky had plenty of clouds and rain was still a very high possibility. Lets just camp for a day or two and let this sort it's self out. So here we are, Sue is out in her crocks looking for birds while the rain holds off and Mal has the "Flyfree Café" converted into his creative studio.
Grey clouds persist throughout the day and while it never rains it is threatening. Two vehicles head East in the morning - a red cruiser and a Earth Cruiser type truck. After lunch we have three Toyota wagons and then later in the day one lone Toyota wagon and not long after a convoy of four vehicles. No vehicles pass heading West.
Sue gets some photos of the Crimson Chat and a blue and white wren.
We hear the sad news via sat phone that Jeff Betts' dad Alan has passed away - it is turning into a year of loss.
The water holes around our camp have mostly gone by the time it gets dark. We no sooner get into bed and the rain starts. It is not heavy like the night before and we get maybe five or six "clearing showers" as Sue calls them.
