On the night train!
I'm currently lying on my hard sleeper bed while typing this. My destination; Shanghai. My ETA 11am tomorrow morning.
What an interesting experience this is! Waiting for them to let us board the train was chaos. I thought London Euston was bad, but I've never seen anything like this!
It was literally every man woman & child for themselves. No prisoners were taken, including and especially the elderly women. I was glad of my 6"3 height and strong build on this occasion.
When I finally got through the crush, I managed to easily find my coach number and bed. Coach 16, bed 13. This was a bottom bunk bed and thank goodness as I couldn't see myself climbing down a 3 tier bunk bed in the middle of the night without disturbing my neighbours.
This is a very unique experience. I don't actually dislike it. I've just managed 4 nights sharing with 12 people so it can't be that bad.
Nicely air conditioned and I have plenty of food & water to keep me going as I wouldn't fancy my chances ordering anything without a 'point a picture' menu.
At £36 it's well worth it. The bed is actually more comfortable than the one in the hostel. I've heard terrible stories of soft & hard seats. And people that have taken the soft sleeper feel it's not worth the extra. So hard sleeper is definitely the may forward.
Anyhow I think it's time to catch up on an episode of Lost, night all!
