I've made it!!
So after almost a days worth of travelling I have reached my destination, the Leo Hostel Beijing.
After a smooth landing the immigration and airport transfer was effortless. I must admit, I was a little concerned, however there are plenty of English translations on signs etc.
The hostel did offer a shuttle service for around £20-30, however I decided to start as I mean to carry on and find my own route.
I took a train from terminal 3 to Dongzhimen station which cost 25 yuan (approximately £2.50). The train was spacious, air conditioned and had screens with a basketball game on. Even though I don't really understand basketball, I already felt I was getting a better service than UK railways.
When I reached Dongzhimen, I switched to the subway (line 2) to Qianmen. This is where the fun began!
The hostel website says it's a short walk from Qianmen station, which is correct, however it wasn't straightforward as indicated on the website map.
Fortunately I had pre google mapped the route and stood a better chance!
What a beautiful place this is. The whole place is buzzing! I can't wait to explore it!!
