This morning, after having breakfast (Nicola had her favourite pizza) we walked up to the grounds of the Alhambra. Sadly, there were no tickets for when Nicola was here but I managed to get one for the afternoon. Although luckily we managed to have a bit of a look around and see the amazing views.
After doing some souvenir shopping we had an icecream from the oldest icecream shop in Granada.
Nicola took the bus to the bus station at 3pm but not before realising her flight was 2 hours later than she thought! There was nothing she could do about it as she had already booked her bus to the airport. She was not looking forward to sitting around for almost 6 hours in the airport.
I went straight to the Alhambra. There were many palaces and gardens to explore, all incredible. You have to go at a specific time to the main palace to control numbers. It was beautiful. Sadly my phone died halfway through looking round, so I don't have a lot of photos. Photos would not have done it justice anyway!
I was very hungry as I spent almost 4 hours looking round and by this point it was 7.30. Eventually i found a supermarket and bought the ingredients to make a classic vegetable pasta. The one problem was the onion. You had to buy them in packs of 3. There was one loose one so I took that to the till, however I was told I couldn't buy it seperately. But after a sneaky check, the cashier put it in my bag for free! Cant get much better than a free onion and it made my meal much more tasty.
I spent the even talking to different people in the hostel. It was great to talk to an Argentinian and a Colombian- I love the Latin American accent.
A quick shout out to Nicola for being such a great travel buddy, I will miss her!

Auntie Cynth Lovely to read about your travels. Stay safe and have a great time!
Caryn Pizza for breakfast!! Shame Nicola didn't get chance to see Alhambra Palace, and it's better to be two hours early to the airport, than two hours late! Alhambra is a beautiful place; how disappointing about your phone battery. Wow, a free onion - lucky you!! Enjoy the second half (or final third?) of your tour whatever you do, and wherever you go, but please be careful. xxxxx
dar It is a beautiful place, with excellent tasting free onions! Hope you don't get to lonely it doesn't sound like you will, just be more aware now you're a lone traveler. xx
