We took a bla bla car to Granada and were driven by a nice Spanish man and he had another passenger who was a girl about our age. It was nice to meet them. She showed us how to get to our hostel when we arrived in Granada.
I liked Granada as soon as we arrived. It is a very interesting city, very influenced by North African culture.
At 11am we did the city walking tour and we were impressed with the guide and everything we saw.
Nicola got her name tattooed on her arm in Arabic however as we were walking disaster struck and as quickly as the henna had been done it was destroyed to a brown smudge on her arm as she walked into by bag or I swung my bag into her arm. {It was definitely Laura's fault ;) } We can't decide who is at fault for the destruction of her €1 tattoo;).
The temperature was about 40 degrees but to me didn't feel quite as bad as in Sevilla. However after the walking tour we went back to the hostel to hide from the mid afternoon heat.
We emerged again at 6pm to do a tour of Sacremonte. A neighbourhood on a mountain where people live in cave houses. Some of them were very basic but some were amazing! They had incredible views of the city and la Alhambra which is one of Granadas main attractions.
For dinner we got some takeaway pizza and ate it on the steps of the cathedral. After showering we went to some bars and had sangría. When you buy a drink in some Spanish bar they will bring you a tapas for free. This time raw mushrooms swimming in olive oil. The hostel we are staying in is clean comfy and bright so we were happy to go back and sleep at 1.30am.

Caryn Interesting set of photos. I wasn't aware of the cave houses. They look fascinating. Not so sure about raw mushrooms in oil, would be lovely to be enjoying a sangria on a warm evening though. It's been miserable here! xxxxxx
Daf Bla bla car seems to be the way to go! you get a tour guide for nothing! Sounds very hot, and mushrooms in oil - Yuk (i guess when you're on a budget anything will do!
