Last night's sleep was actually really good - better mattress and we moved the bed underneath the fan. It was such a good sleep that Calvin woke up early and did a workout on the rooftop for the first time in forever. Our last proper day in Lamu - a nice, peaceful, unique and wonderful place to visit and spend a while wandering the narrow lanes. Activities for the day included:  - having more fresh mango juices and mango and coconut shakes,  - visiting the German Post Office museum (the first post office on the East African coast),  - revisiting the Swahili House Museum (because we didn't realise there was more to it than the courtyard) - but not actually going in because we didn't think $5 entry each was worth it,  - eating mangoes and passionfruit from the market for afternoon tea,  - watching a movie called Little Men (98% on Rotten Tomatoes) and then,  - our favourite activity - going on a food crawl! Food crawl consisted of:   - Labanda Restaurant: appetisers of beef samosas and an entree (aka as main meal) of chicken biryani, then a walk to - Mangrove Centre: Swahili pizza take away to eat on the way to - Lamu Palace Hotel: vegetarian pizza (with added pineapple) and a cold Sprite to wash it all down Lamu has felt like the safest place so far on our trip. Everyone is friendly - some more than others, usually the ones who try to invite you on to their boat for a sunset cruise (romantic, no?). For us, that was really the only downside - while sitting down at a restaurant, enjoying a nice cold mango juice and just enjoying watching Lamu waterfront, a man decided to sit right opposite us at our table to try and persuade us to go on his boat - Calvin put on his best angry face to make him go away. Fortunately, occasions like this only happened 3 times out of our 7 days here. Hopefully tourism picks up again on this beautiful island and those touts will be too busy with others to bother the ones who just want to sit and watch.
