Soongies' Great Adventure
We had to move rooms today. Down into the dungeons of JamboHouse. Apparently we had booked the type of room (which was standard double with private detached bathroom) on Hostelworld.com, rather than a specific room which you can choose on some other websites. So we basically moved into the same room but on the ground floor to vacate our room for someone else. I guess more exercise for us which is good although when it's hot, it could really do with a lift! We're working through our list of restaurants in Lamu. Today's tick off the list was Hapa Hapa Restaurant where Kate had spaghetti napolitana and Calvin had vegetable curry with chapati. We then headed off to look for the Swahili House Museum. It was quite difficult to find even though there were some signs but we ended up finding it tucked away in a laneway. One of the island's wells is in the outdoor part of the museum and we saw one of the locals using it to fill up his containers with water. Calvin asked if he could have a turn but don't think the guy understood so Calvin watched and then when he left, had a turn. We went home and escaped the heat of the day by watching a thriller of a movie - 10 Cloverfield Lane which had Kate feeling a little wary of being on the ground floor of the building. For dinner we ticked another restaurant off the list - New Mahrus Hotel. One of the cheapest meals so far! We shared chicken stew, biryani and mixed vegetables and Calvin had a juice for $7 in total!

Amanda I've been trying to work out who writes the blogs... I think today it was Kate?
soongies Bingo! Correct Amanda. How can you tell?
Amanda Well I'm not going to give away my secret of discernment. I think the previous entry may of been Calvin though?
