We explored Ngorongoro Crater today. Because the entry into the crater is via a very steep and narrow track, we left the truck behind for some Landcruisers to take us into the crater. Last night, we heard hyenas and lions around the campsite. Woke up early to leave by 7 for another game drive. We saw everything we wanted to see in the morning. We left at 7:30 am from Tembo Campsite - Lake Victoria, source of the River Nile, was very flat and calm this morning, a change from yesterday evening's windy waves. Stopped in Musoma Village to get some Tanzanian Shillings out and for some people to get SIM cards. Early wake up this morning to leave by 7 am. Breakfast was provided by Itibo – samosas, sweet potatoes, bread and eggs. It wasn't long on the road before we got to our first stop – Kisii Soapstone Carving Factory. We got a tour of the place and were shown how raw soapstone is cut and carved, sanded smooth and then painted and polished, to then be sold or exported.
