Zvi Josef's Travels
Ok, so this day started rather late and lazy... . We got a ride to st. Peter's square as we really wanted to visit the Basilica, only to discover the square was pack with hundred of thousands of people and that the Pope was about to congratuate them for Easter. So naturally - we styed and listened to the Pope blessing everyone in 70 languages with the crowd cheering. That felt so international and SO awesome.
As the basilica was closed, we continued to the Spanish steps, which were ok, visited several churches, a garden, had a so-so Cafe and returned to the Vatican to visit the basilica.
As the saying goes - OMG! Pun intended!!! It was enormous and beautiful and we actually got to be in a special Easter ceremony with several Cardinals and Bishops, hymns and songs - amazing, amazing, amazing.
If the feeling was amazing to us, non-practicing Jews, you can only imagine how it feels to true believers. AMAZING! :)
We then continued to have dinner at That's Amore, where we had dinner two days ago. It was awesome, again.
Later, in the hotel, we met a very nice UK couple and spend over 2 hours talking and drinking with them in the Imperial lounge - had a great evening. :)
Tomorrow we're taking some time at the hotel and finishing our extensive Rome tour.
G'night! :)
