Had an uneventful flight with Alitalia (such a low-cost carrier...) and landed in Italy at 7:45 in the morning. 45 minutes later we were on a taxi to the hotel, which agreed to check us in at 9:00. Awesome! :)
The hotel is gorgeous and our room was upgraded to a Rome view with Imperial club benefits (which were ours to use as soon as we checked in, so we had a great little breakfast).
2 hours later, we headed for Rome using the hotel's shuttle, which dropped us off at Barberini.
We went to see the Capitol, the Forum (including the Colosseum) and Piaza del Rutanda - 3 different areas that included a lot of amazing churches, beautiful buildings and a LOT of lovely Italians. :)
We had an awesome dinner at "That's Amore" and got back to the hotel at 20:30. Took a shower, enjoyed more food on the lounge and switched rooms due to various reasons.
Tomorrow, we're off to see the Vatican and have our amazing dinner at "La Pergola".
