Today we visited the somber park of Babi Yar, where as many as 60,000 Jews were slaughtered here during WWII. It was an emotional visit. Following the visit we did some final shopping and headed back to the hotel for some lounging before our late checkout and headed to the airport. The airport itself was anything but impressive but our flight left on time.

Today we explored the famous Lavra caves and churches, the amazing Motherland statue and then some evening shopping. All in all, it was a great day.

After a good night sleep, we went ahead to explore an island on the river, a palace and some monuments. In the afternoon, we rested a bit and in the evening went out for a night on the opera - we had tickets to a concert of famous movie themes, which was nice. After the concert, we had a dinner in town and headed back to the hotel.

We landed in Kiev at 8AM and waited for our luggage at least 45 minutes. We then took a pre-ordered shuttle into town, arriving to the hotel at 9:45AM. Thankfully, our rooms were ready and we even managed to get a Club breakfast. We later explored the hotel's vicinity - the beautiful churches, street markets and even tried the funicular. After lounging at the airport for a while, we took a dreadful, dreadful redeye flight to Ukraine's 2nd largest city. The flight was truly horrible, thanks to Ukraine Airlines dreadful service and hard product. Truly pathetic. We landed in Kharkiv, had to collect our luggage and check it in again (although being on the same PNR). Go figure. After some 2 hours, we were on our next flight to Kiev.
