NOTHING could've prepared us for the stunning view when we opened the curtains in the morning - great snow-topped mountains, the bay of Reykjavik and an island in the middle. Absolutely great.
After a nice breakfast, we went to the nearby Hilton hotel to by the Reykjavik welcome card and to a nearby Nova store to get a sim card.
We then took a bus to the city and started exploring it - the Harpa hall, the old harbour and the Maritime museum, the volcano house and cafe, an art museum, the 871+-2 settlement museum, the Parliament, several churches, the town hall, the beautiful Tjornin lake, the opera house and the HUGE spaceship looking church.
We then met two friends for dinner and hen got a ride back to the hotel where we received our Toyota RAV4 car for the duration of our trip.
All through the day, the weather was beautiful with a very light snow and some drizel, but otherwise great.
WHAT A DAY!!! :)
Tomorrow we're off to the Golden Circle. :)
