Well here I am in Kunming and its a little chilly but all good. Not a bad flight from Beijing although we started to move before everyone was seated and were on the runway ready to go, so it was a mad rush to get sat down, china southern in a rush.

I am now a member of the YHA in China, thought it might be a good idea since i intend to be doing some travelling within the confines of the country that I now live in.

Kunming seems quite an interesting place, my hostel appears to be on sport street which isnt so good when its the first day of the holiday and i have to go and have a little hike around so no purchases for me. There are tennis rackest everywhere though.

This is just to let peeps know i am safe as have forgotten the adapter to charge my phone, what a muppet. %am flight tomorrow to diqing am so excited to be staying in a meadow with yaks and tibetan people.

So have been out for a small wander around and managed to end up at some black pool park. It said go to the garden and you will see amazing mountains well I went the wrong way and saw amazing tombs plus about a 6 mile walk on some rugged terrain still have no idea where the garden was. So walked throuh the tombs and ended up at some religious site that was full of locals who are so keen to chat but it wasn't going anywhere as my mandarin is bad enough with out a whole new dialect to get involved with. Some old boy tried to give me a lift down the mountain but opted to walk instead.

No taxis in sight so hopped on the bus with the yocals that had a lovely stare but all in a friendly way so all fine and dandy. So 5 am and back to the airport tomorrow for a look in deqing
