After leaving Dalwallinu where we stayed for two nights we spent last night at a camp we found and had all to ourselves. There was a dirt road leading off a road rest area which ended at an old gravel pit. It was a big flat area, but obviously used by others at different times. There was an old vacuum cleaner as well as a mix master, numerous empty stubbies as well as door parts taken from what appeared to have been quite a nice car at one time. We thought it would be nice and quiet as it was a fair way from the main road. Wrong!!! Road trains seemed to run all night, loud and clear in the night air!!! Anyway we arrived at Mount Magnet today after leaving very early this morning.
Just stayed overnight at Mount Magnet last night. We left early to travel 199kms to Meekatharra. Lots of road trains on the road, heading south while we were heading north. All handled by Ross with lots of skill and patience, except for the motorhome which pushed into the queue in front of us at the servo. Ross asked him if he was in a hurry, to let him know he had done the wrong thing. The guy just looked at him and said nothing. Maybe he didn't speak English.
Hooray! Finally what I would call a civilised supermarket at Meelatharra, large, well stocked and surprise, surprise, reasonable prices. The air seems to be minimally warmer this afternoon, so from now on it should get a litttle warmer each day.
